Astar Network is now directly integrated with Injective, a leading DeFi hub in the Cosmos ecosystem, opening up direct connections between the Polkadot and Cosmos IBC. This integration will enable Astar and Polkadot users to bridge their assets, including ASTR and DOT, from the leading parachain directly to Cosmos IBC chains and vice versa. No centralized exchange. And, no high gas fees. This integration is exciting for developers too, because you can now build inter-chain dApps across Polkadot and Cosmos via Celer IM.

This connection was made possible by the Celer Bridge, which already connects over 150 tokens across 40 chains, and with support for Injective, opens up closer relationships between the Cosmos and Polkadot.

What is Injective?

Injective is a Layer-1 protocol built on the Cosmos Tendermint standard aimed to be the go-to platform for building dApps focused on decentralized perpetual swaps, futures, cross-chain margin trading, derivatives, and all other DeFi needs.

Unlike popular DEXs like Uniswap, Injective leverages the battle-tested orderbook model to combine the efficiency of traditional centralized finance with the transparency and resilience of blockchain. Developers can utilize modules such as the orderbook to rapidly create their own unique dApps, avoiding the typical workload required to deploy a new dApp.

Injective has become a hub in the Cosmos ecosystem and continues building cutting-edge DeFi products. To further drive adoption, Injective launched a $150 million venture initiative earlier this year, showcasing their commitment to pushing DeFi forward.

What does this integration mean for Astar users?

Thanks to this integration, anyone in the Astar ecosystem will be able to bridge their assets to the Cosmos ecosystem easily — opening up the door to using protocols built on top of Injective such as Astroport.

As the first XC20 bridge on Astar Network, this integration also allows Injective users to bridge ATOM, INJ, and even more assets. to other projects on Polkadot via Astar Network by leveraging the power of XCM, which enables greater interoperability between Cosmos and Polkadot.

It’s a step toward providing users with more options while strengthening the relationships between both ecosystems, as also highlighted by Injective Labs co-founder and CEO Eric Chen: “Bringing together the Cosmos and Polkadot ecosystems has long been a goal for the entire crypto industry, so we are thrilled to be playing a part alongside the teams at Astar and Celer. This integration unlocks not only new synergies but also a diverse array of opportunities for Web3 users everywhere”

Astar Network CEO Sota Watanabe added that “We’re excited to be part of connecting two of the most vibrant multichain ecosystems. This integration enables users to tap into liquidity in various protocols and ultimately benefit from great products in both ecosystems. We’re looking forward to exploring further opportunities to enable a more seamless multichain experience.”

ATOM, the native Cosmos token, can also be bridged to Astar and, soon, used on the leading DeFi protocol ArthSwap which combines a simple UI with trading, swapping, staking, and liquidity mining.

What’s next?

Astar Network continues on a path to facilitate a multichain future where builders can rely on one smart contract to interface with multiple different blockchain ecosystems. For users, an integration as with Injective opens up more seamless bridging and provides them with new options to most efficiently use their crypto assets.

This integration is crucial for both ecosystems, bringing them closer together, empowering users, and opening up the door for future synergies.

About Celer

Celer is a blockchain interoperability protocol enabling a one-click user experience accessing tokens, DeFi, GameFi, NFTs, governance, privacy solutions and more across multiple chains. Developers can build inter-chain-native dApps using the Celer Inter-chain Message SDK to gain access to efficient liquidity utilization, coherent application logic, and shared states. Users of Celer-enabled dApps will enjoy the benefits of a diverse multi-blockchain ecosystem with the simplicity of a single-transaction UX, all from a single chain.

About Astar

The Future of Multichain Smart Contracts.

Astar is Japan’s most popular smart contract platform, supporting both EVM and WebAssembly (Wasm) environments and interoperability between them using a Cross-Virtual Machine. Astar Network is friendly to all kinds of developers and the tools and languages they already know. Backed by the shared security of Polkadot, Astar shines brilliantly on its own within a vibrant and healthy ecosystem and in the blockchain industry overall, driving international corporate adoption and consumer interest in Web3 technologies.

Astar’s Build2Earn program is designed to grow the network in an innovative way while simultaneously rewarding participants and builders. It allows developers to earn incentives for building and maintaining their decentralized applications and users to earn incentives for supporting their favorite projects, all while encouraging the growth of the ecosystem overall.
